Carr returns to practice, Reece out

The Oakland Raiders were pleased to see the return of their rookie quarterback Derek Carr to the practice field on Monday.

Carr missed practice on Sunday due to a concussion suffered during Friday’s game against the Lions, but appears to have gone through the league-mandated concussion protocol quickly, returning to practice according to multiple reports in Alameda.

Carr had a strong game against the Lions on Friday, going nine for 16 for 107 yards and a nice touchdown pass to tight end %%MATCH_3%% on a rollout pass.

While getting Carr back, the Raiders were forced to practice without dynamic fullback %%MATCH_1%%, who left practice on Sunday with a foot injury. Reece was unable to return to practice Monday while appearing with a boot and is set to have an MRI on his foot, according to Scott Bair of Comcast Sportsnet.

Replacing Reece would be difficult as he provides explosiveness and matchup difficulties as a receiver out of the backfield.

Without any exact diagnosis, there is no timetable for his return.

Meanwhile, second-year cornerback %%MATCH_2%% was seen working on the side with a trainer. Hayden appeared to be making cuts, according to Bair, but it is still unknown as to when he will be able to return to practice with the secondary.
