Auffray entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent when he signed with the Arizona Cardinals in May 2013 out of New Hampshire. After being waived that summer, he signed with the New England Patriots in June of this year but lasted just a month. The same was the case in Cleveland, where he was signed and waived this month.
Auffray originally began his career as a quarterback at Mississippi State but switched to tight end after going to New Hampshire. The 6-foot-5, 254-pounder played in 16 games as a tight end and punter and hauled in four receptions for 34 yards and one touchdown. He had 71 punts for 2,679 yards (37.7 avg.).
The Raiders waived kicker Kevin Goessling in order to make room for Auffray on the roster.
