2005: Speedy edge-rusher played in all 16 games and led the Chiefs in sacks for the second consecutive year with 11. Also contributed 58 tackles (4.5 for loss) and five passes defensed, leading all Chiefs defensive linemen in both categories. Tied for the NFL lead in forced fumbles with seven on the season. Won NFL Defensive Player of the Week after his dominating performance against the Washington Redskins, recording three sacks and forcing two fumbles.
2004: Fourth-rounder from Idaho State surprised many by supplanting veteran Vonnie Holliday in the starting lineup by week seven. Led the team in sacks with nine and added 31 tackles, four for loss. Also led all NFL rookies in sacks. Won the Chiefs Mack Lee Hill award as the team’s top rookie and was named to Pro Football Weekly’s All-Rookie Team.
College: Amassed 38.5 career sacks in 41 games at Idaho State. Set the single-season school record with 17.5 sacks in 2003. |
