Late Saturday evening the Kansas City Chiefs finally announced their 53 man roster. So did they make all the right moves? And is this their opening day roster set? We say no to both.
We hardly think so because we think the Chiefs are hoping to add a couple of veterans before they announce their eight-man practice squad on Sunday. So who got the axe Saturday night? G

.
In addition to those cuts, the Chiefs placed two players on injured reserve. Cornerback
Maurice Leggett
and WR
Jerheme Urban
will both miss the entire 2010 season.
Cutting defensive end Dion Gales makes little to no sense.

And finally to get to the magic number, Safety
Jarrad Page
was traded to the
New England Patriots
for a conditional 2011 draft choice.
But the biggest surprise of the evening was not the release of third string quarterback Tyler Palko, it was Haley's decision to cut three of his four defensive tackles.
As it stands now, veteran
Ron Edwards
is riding solo as the teams only defensive tackle. But that could change as Kansas City will likely see what other defensive tackles might have been cut from the other 31 NFL teams.
If that doesn’t happen, it could mean defensive end
Glenn Dorsey
, may move back inside.
For me the biggest head-turner was the release of defensive lineman Dion Gales. He was the only defensive end to get a sack in the preseason. In fact, he netted two of them and he’d been solid all camp long.
Will this former Cardinal become a Chief?

So what’s next?
There is plenty of speculation that with only two quarterbacks on the roster, the Chiefs might make a run for former
Arizona Cardinals
Quarterback Matt Leinert might wind up in Kansas City.
Chiefs Head Coach Todd Haley coached Leinert for two seasons in Arizona and there is a strong belief that the Chiefs could set up a visit as soon as Sunday.
Tomorrow we’ll break down the roster and offer our take on the men who, for now, comprise Haley’s ‘Right 53.’
