Seymour Signs Franchise Tender

With the deal, the five-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman is signed on with the Silver and Black for one more year.

The Oakland Raiders announced on their website on Saturday that veteran defensive lineman Richard Seymour has finally signed his exclusive franchise tag tender.

The Raiders placed the franchise tag on Seymour on February 24th, but the two sides had continued to pursue a long-term deal until Saturday. As a result, Seymour missed all of mini camp and the team's offseason training activities.

The deal means that the Raiders have signed all of their restricted free agents, and will now begin the process of signing their rookies.

The franchise tag guarantees that Seymour will be under contract with for 2010-2011 season, and will be compensated the average salary earned last season by the league's five highest paid defensive ends, $12.398 million. Recommended Stories
