The Oakland Raiders have aquired veteran defensive lineman Richard Seymour in a trade with the New England Patriots, according to reports by Scout's Adam Caplan and other sources.

Details of the trade have not been confirmed yet but ESPN's Adam Scefter reports the Raiders are sending their 2011 first round pick to New England in exchange for the five time Pro Bowler.

Seymour recorded 52 tackles and a career high 8 sacks with the Patriots in 2008, showing that he still has some gas left in the tank. At 6'6 and 310 pounds, he should add some much needed fire and intimidation to a defensive line that has lacked both through this year's preseason.

S&BI's Michael Wagaman will have more on this breaking story as more information becomes available.
