“I feel like I can physically go. It’s getting better everyday. I couldn’t run or put any pressure on it but I’ve got to go.” -- Raiders cornerback Charles Woodson

The Oakland Raiders will get their cornerback position closer to full strength for Sunday’s home game against the Denver Broncos – and not a moment too soon.

Raiders’ starting left cornerback Charles Woodson revealed Monday that the leg injury that has kept him out of action the last two games is a fractured right fibula. Woodson, however, intends to suit up for Sunday’s game. Woodson originally sustained the injury in Oakland’s 26-20 win over the New York Jets.

“I feel like I can physically go,” Woodson said. “It’s getting better everyday. I couldn’t run or put any pressure on it but I’ve got to go.”

The Raiders were without their top three corners in Sunday’s 23-17 loss to Miami. Tory James (leg) also missed the contest and Phillip Buchanon (wrist) is on injured reserve. Miami quarterback Jay Fiedler attacked a Raider secondary that featured Brandon Jennings, Terrence Shaw and Clarence Love. Fiedler completed 21-of-32 passes for 237 yards, one touchdown and nary an interception.

“Those guys fought hard,” Woodson said. “It’s tough for anybody to come in and be a starter the whole game especially when you have receivers as good as Miami has and the type of offense they run.”

The Raiders could use Woodson against the likes of Denver and Kansas City’s passing attacks. Oakland (9-5) still leads the division despite losing to the Dolphins but the good news is that it controls its own fate with the final two games being against Denver and Kansas City.

“We can’t relax now,” Woodson said. “We’ve still got some things to shoot for. We’ve just got to win these games and put Miami out of our mind.”
