With hints of moving Michael Huff out of the strong safety position, the Oakland Raiders are bringing in someone who can take his place.

Gibril Wilson - the starting strong safety for the Super Bowl Champion New York Giants - will visit the Raiders this weekend and a source close to the situation believes Oakland will not let him leave without a signed contract.

Wilson played in 13 games for the Giants in 2007 and collected four interceptions while making 92 tackles.

A fifth-round pick in 2004, Wilson is considered one of the top safeties on the market.

"He is quick - really good against the run but not that great against the pass," a talent evaluator said. "He has gotten better at defending the pass but is really an impressive tackler. When he is playing zone he gets confused - but he actually plays quite well in man coverage.

"He played so well against the pass over the last five or six games that he became one of the reasons the Giants won the Super Bowl."

The Raiders had inconsistent play at the safety position last year and are looking to improve the spot so they can move Huff to free safety to take advantage of the freedom of the position.
