Defensive end Derrick Burgess, who was also hit with an unsportsmanlike penalty during the chaos just before halftime, was slapped with a $25,000 fine.
Burgess was unavailable for comment but Sapp told Silver and Black Illustrated he intends on appealing the fine.
The following is the statement released by the NFL:
“Warren Sapp of the Oakland Raiders has been fined $75,000 for physical and verbal actions toward game officials that drew an unprecedented three unsportsmanlike conduct penalties and ejection from last Sunday’s game.
Derrick Burgess of the Raiders was fined $25,000 for his verbal abuse of a game official that resulted in an unsportsmanlike conduct in the same game.
NFL rules prohibit abusive conduct toward game officials, including unnecessary physical contact and the use of abusive, threatening or insulting language or gestures.”
