Raiders sign fifth-round pick Jay Richardson

The Oakland Raiders have signed fifth-round pick Jay Richardson to an undisclosed deal and waived offensive tackle Eddie Keele.

Jay Richardson, an Ohio State alumnus, recorded 53 tackles and seven quarterback sacks during his college career. In 2006, he chalked up 25 tackles and four sacks.

At 6-foot-6, 275-pounds, Richardson wasn't a full-time starter until his senior campaign and has a huge wingspan to bat down passes and use his strength to overpower offensive linemen.

Eddie Keele, an undrafted free agent signed by the Raiders after the draft, was coming off a torn ACL and still ran a 40-yard dash in 5.08 seconds with a knee brace.

Keele also threw up the 225-pound bench press 43 times at his Pro Day is a left tackle. Recommended Stories
