Oakland Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin called the first day of the NFL Draft "perfect". It is his belief that things could not have worked out better with JaMarcus Russell, Zach Miller, Quentin Moses, and a trade that reunited Mike Williams with Kiffin and brought in Josh McCown.

Kiffin touched on the following topics:

  • The perfect first day:

"It has gone exactly how we thought it would go. There is no scenario we would change to have it go any better."

  • Randy Moss and the trade market for him
  • How certain the team was in selecting JaMarcus Russell
  • Zach Miller was the top tight end on his board.p "We took a risk (trading down)."
  • The addition of Quentin Moses.

"We had rated muc higher than that."

  • Mike Williams and their history together
  • "A tenth overall first round pick with a contract situation that was very favorable. I have known him for five years."

  • Josh McCown's starting experience
  • and much more over 14 minutes of audio...
