Raiders sign Cooper Carlisle

The Oakland Raiders agreed to terms with offensive lineman Cooper Carlisle on Thursday.

Cooper Carlisle, a fourth-round selection of the Denver Broncos in 2000, agreed to a two-year contract with Oakland, spurning an offer to return to Denver.

The offensive guard started in Denver over each of the last two years after managing just five starts over his first five seasons in the NFL.

He is expected to compete for a starting job in Oakland and adds much needed depth and experience to an offensive line still trying to find its way. Recommended Stories
