Raiders drop another one
Brooks was pulled in the second half
Brooks was pulled in the second half

The Oakland Raiders thought they would find some offense this week against a team that could not stop the run. Instead, the Raiders were shutout for the third time this season and saw Stephen Jackson tear up the ground, especially in the second half.

With just four completions for 27 yards, Aaron Brooks netted just ten first half passing yards after losing 17 on two sacks.

He would be replaced in the lineup by Andrew Walter to open the fourth quarter but the results remained the same. After completing his first three passes, Walter was intercepted by Ronald Bartell at the Oakland 35. Bartell returned the ball 16 yards before Steven Jackson scored his second touchdown from 19 yards out to extend the St. Louis lead to 20-0.

Brooks went 11-for-19 for 98 yards and an interception. He was sacked four times. Walter threw two picks in his first nine passes, accounting for two of his three incompletions. He ended the night 14-for-30 for 131 yards.

St. Louis had two separate drives with 13 plays or more in the second quarter but the Oakland defense stoned the Rams inside the red zone and Jeff Wilkins converted field goals from 24 and 34 yards out for a 6-0 first half lead.

A muffed punt by Chris Carr in the third quarter led to the first touchdown. Chris Massey recovered the fumble at the Oakland 24 and four plays later Steven Jackson powered through the middle of the defense for a four-yard touchdown run to put the Rams on top 13-0.

Jackson ran for 127 yards on 31 carries.

Notes:

In 14 games the Raiders have scored just 156 points. Tampa Bay is the only other team that has not scored 200 points (182). Doug Gabriel had two receptions for 31 yards in his return to Oakland.

Matt Turk pummeled a 74yard punt in the first half, the longest punt for the Rams franchise since 1948 (Bob Waterfield).
